Why the Brain Matters – Jon Tibke
Jon Tibke was a teacher who then became a lecturer on teacher training courses. He realised the number of neuromyths which existed and thought that teachers needed to know more about neuroscience and the latest neuroscience research. He believes that as educators we need to know more about the brain and how it works so that we can be critical consumers and talks about the neuromyths we may have heard and believed. He has a chapter about why it is important for students to know about how their brains work (great for the IPC brainwaves units) and another about learning skills.
